We finally got a touch of that snow that's been going around...It started Friday night - great big snowflakes and this is what we woke up to in the morning - so pretty!
I am fortunate to live in coastal region with my wonderful husband and our long walks on the beach and treasure hunting in antique stores allow for some amazing inspiration and materials. Throughout my explorations as an artist, I have always been drawn to tiny objects and nature. I often find myself coming home from a walk with a collection of shells, bits of driftwood, tiny feathers, stones, twigs and other random bits and found objects I just can’t resist. These collections spill over in my studio and make their way into my daily life as I surround myself with these bits and baubles.
Jewelry provides the perfect canvas for these tiny objects and trinkets. As I arrange and assemble these bits I image they come from some sort of history…a story of their travels and I try to reference a sense of this throughout the piece. This is why each and every piece is individual and unique.
Much of my inspiration comes from my surroundings as well some of my heros…Georgia O’Keefe, Frida Kahlo, my mom …
